The present disclosure describes and claims extracts/fractions and compounds obtained therefrom, comprising diterpenes with a non-conventional novel carbon skeleton and its pharmacological properties, isolated from salvia amarissima. Furthermore, the invention relates to standardized extracts and/or fractions and compounds obtained therefrom from the class of useful diterpenes as modulators of the multi-drug resistance in breast carcinoma.
