The present invention relates to a commercial vehicle auxiliary brake using Magnetorheological (MR) fluid, comprising: a rotor coupled to a transmission output shaft to rotate together; a stator which is disposed between the rotor and a transmission body, and includes a gap part for charging MR fluid; and a stator coil which is arranged on one part of the stator, and applies a magnetic field to the MR fluid for generating brake torque caused by shear resistance that is a characteristic of the MR fluid. In regards to this, the commercial vehicle auxiliary brake further comprises: a coil control part which is connected to the stator coil, and controls magnetic force of the stator coil by increasing power in stages; and a fluid supply part interlocked with the coil control part to supply the MR fluid to the gap part. Accordingly, since the commercial vehicle auxiliary brake has great brake force with a small amount of fluid, a power ratio per unit volume/weight is high. In addition, the commercial vehicle auxiliary brake can be manufactured as a simple structure with reliability. Also, due to development of the auxiliary brake, marketability of commercial vehicles may be improved. |
