The present invention relates to an apparatus and a method for searching by using an index without a final consonant and, more particularly, to an apparatus and a method for searching by using an index without a final consonant, which can configure a word index without a final consonant by removing the final consonants of words to be indexed, configure a corresponding table between original words corresponding to the words without the final consonants, and sequentially search for an initial consonant and a medial consonant with respect to the inputted initial consonant search and medial consonant search. The apparatus for searching by using an index without a final consonant according to the present invention comprises: a non-final consonant search DB for indexing and storing words to be searched by dividing each syllable of the words to be searched into phonemes, storing an index without a final consonant by removing a final consonant from each phoneme of the words to be searched, and configuring and storing the index without a final consonant and an original index in the form of a corresponding table; a non-final consonant search word input unit for receiving the initial consonant and the medial consonant of each syllable of a Korean word to be searched by a user; a search control unit for searching for candidate words corresponding to a search word without a final consonant inputted to the non-final consonant search word input unit from the index without a final consonant of the non-final consonant search DB and deriving the original index corresponding to the index without a final consonant as the result of the search; and a result display unit for displaying a list of the candidate words searched by the search control unit. |
