The present invention relates to an abnormality diagnosis system for a photovoltaic generation system and a method thereof which diagnose whether an abnormality occurs in a string in which photovoltaic modules are connected in series. More specifically, the present invention relates to a system and a method for diagnosing an abnormal module in a series-connected photovoltaic module string which, by using a phenomenon that measured output voltage values of modules around an abnormal module in a string having series-connected photovoltaic modules tend to increase, can accurately diagnose whether an abnormal module occurs in a string stage by diagnosing that an abnormal module occurs in the corresponding string when an output voltage value of a module in the series-connected photovoltaic module string exceeds an effective voltage. According to the system and a method for diagnosing an abnormal module in a series-connected photovoltaic module string, when modules in one series-connected photovoltaic module string, which have output voltage values greater than the effective voltage, are apart from each other by at least two modules, those modules located between the modules having the output voltage values exceeding the effective voltage are specified as an abnormal module. Or, when modules having output voltage values greater than the effective voltage occur successively from a specific module in one string, a module before the corresponding specific module is specified as the abnormal module. Therefore, it is possible to accurately specify abnormal nodules in a string. |
