An armrest for a door of a vehicle comprises: an upper plate provided between an upper trim and a lower trim of a vehicle door and having a convex center portion to be folded by a force applied from a side; a lower plate provided to a lower portion of the upper plate and supporting both ends of the upper plate to prevent the upper plate from being folded by a vertical load; and a cover provided to cover the upper plate and having a flat upper surface to allow a user′s arm to be placed. Therefore, the armrest for a vehicle door buffers an impact applied from the side to relieve damage to a passenger.
