An inverted vehicle according to the present invention includes: wheel; a base (5) that holds the wheel so as to be able to drive the wheel; a step cover (3) on which a rider rides, the step cover being connected to an upper portion of the base (5); an elastic element (8) that is connected to the upper portion of the base and elastically supports the step cover (3); a detection portion (7) that is provided between the base (5) and the step cover (3) and detects a pressing force applied from the step cover when the rider is riding on the inverted vehicle and the elastic element (8) is elastically deformed to thereby depress the step cover (3); and a control portion (20) that drives the wheel (4) and performs an inverted control based on the detection of the pressing force by the detection portion (7).
