发明名称 Manufacture of new stable emulsions of artificial resins
摘要 Migration of the aqueous emulsions of the water insoluble hardenable amido-alcohol-formaldehyde condensates, described in the parent Specification, when applied to textile fibres, is prevented by incorporating in the emulsion at least 10 per cent by weight of a colloidal solution of tragacanth, starch, carob meal, or polyvinyl alcohol. In examples: (1) 200 parts titanium white are dispersed in a solution comprising 150 parts gelatine, 120 parts urea, 30 parts thiourea, and 300 parts water. The pigment paste thus obtained is emulsified with 400 parts of a solution containing 60 per cent urea-butanol-formaldehyde condensate and 40 per cent free butanol. The resulting emulsion is diluted with 7,700 parts water, 100 parts ammonium chloride and 1000 parts aqueous polyvinyl chloride solution and used to impregnate a viscous silk fabric which is dried at 120-140 DEG C. Other examples specify as pigments: Indanthrene Blue RS, gas black, Hansa yellow, diazotized 2.5 dichloraniline and 2.3 - oxynaphthoic acid - 21 - anisidine, copper phthalocyanine. Water - soluble condensates, e.g. dimethylolurea, dimethyl ether or hexamethylol melamine glycol ether may be added. Specification 597,390 is referred to. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 includes methyl cellulose as a constituent of the colloidal solution and describes in example (1) (Cancelled) the emulsification of 400 parts of a solution containing 44 per cent urea-benzyl-alcohol-formaldehyde condensate and 56 per cent free benzyl alcohol by a solution of 60 parts casein, 50 parts thiourea, and 6 parts triethanolamine in 184 parts water. The emulsion is diluted with 300 parts water and then mixed with 9000 parts of a 0.5 solution of methyl cellulose and used to impregnate cotton fabric which is dried at 160 DEG C. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.ALSO:Migration of the aqueous emulsions of the water-insoluble hardenable amido-alcohol-formaldehyde condensates, described in the parent Specification, when applied to textile fibres, is prevented by incorporating in the emulsion at least 10 per cent by weight of a colloidal solution of tragacanth, starch, carob meal, or polyvinyl alcohol.
