PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pile insertion device capable of inserting a pile into a ground while rotating the pile even in a relatively narrow space, and a pile insertion method.SOLUTION: A pile insertion device for inserting a pile includes a hydraulic cylinder and a guide member. The hydraulic cylinder has a cylinder body and a rod installed on the inner peripheral side of the cylinder body, and can be extended by relative displacement of the cylinder body and the rod. The guide member has a cylinder part and a force receiver. The cylinder part is installed on the outer peripheral side of the hydraulic cylinder so that the axis of the cylinder part is nearly parallel to an extension direction of the hydraulic cylinder. The force receiver is a part for receiving a thrust force in the axial direction from the hydraulic cylinder. The cylinder part has a helical groove. The cylinder body has a projection inserted into the helical groove on its outer peripheral surface. The projection applies a circumferential force to the edge of the helical groove in accordance with elongation of the hydraulic cylinder so that the cylinder part rotates relatively with respect to the cylinder body. |
