<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a recording apparatus that is further reduced in size to improve visibility for more convenience. <P>SOLUTION: A body 11 stores: a roller 32, a roller 33, a roller 37, a roller 38, a roller 39, an arm 40, a shaft 41, an intermediate roller 42, a roller 43, or a roller 44 for conveying sheets; a carriage 34, and a recording head 35 for recording on a conveyed sheet; and a medium support part 36. A manual sheet tray 12 supports manually-placed sheets such that the roller 32 and the roller 33 can convey the sheets. The manual sheet tray 12 provided on the top surface and at the rear side of the body 11 does not protrude from the back side of the body 11 during use.
