The present invention relates to an apparatus for managing a cartridge of an optical disk-based archive system. The apparatus according to an embodiment of the present invention can be configured to comprise: a rack for containing at least one cartridge having at least one optical disk in an offline state; a terminal for acknowledging whether a flash memory included in the cartridge is abnormal at a predetermined period of time, and recovering the flash memory in an abnormal cartridge; and an interface for connecting the flash memory with the terminal. The terminal includes an optical disk drive, obtains, when at least one optical disk included in the abnormal cartridge is loaded on the optical disk drive, cartridge information for the corresponding cartridge from a file included in the optical disk on which the optical disk is loaded, and can recover the abnormal flash memory based on the obtained cartridge information. Therefore, it is possible to simply acknowledge whether a flash in a cartridge is abnormal without mounting an offline cartridge on an archive system, and improve reliability on data stored in the archive system. |
