Provided are a slide rail mechanism and a vehicle seat, with which the strength of engagement of a lock groove by a lock latch is ensured, and engagement/disengagement operations are facilitated. A slide rail mechanism (4) of a vehicle seat (S) is provided with a lock member (30) which restricts relative movement of an upper rail (20) with respect to a lower rail (10). The lock member (30) is provided with a rotational shaft (34) pivoted to the upper rail (20). The rotational shaft (34) is centrally disposed, in the vertical direction, between an engagement position, in which a lock latch (36), having rotated upward about the rotational shaft (34) at the centre thereof, engages with a lock groove (16), and a release position, in which the lock latch (36), having rotated downward, is released from the lock groove (16). |
