METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING GERMINATION-TREATED PLANT SEED, METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING RAW SEED FOR GERMINATION INDUCTION, GERMINATION TREATED PLANT SEED EXTRACT COMPOSITION, AND SCREENING METHOD

Provided are: a novel method for manufacturing a germination-treated plant seed suitable for the production of a large quantity of phytoalexin; a method for manufacturing a raw seed for germination induction to be used in the manufacturing of such germination-treated plant seed; a germination-treated plant seed extract composition; and a screening method for a candidate plant seed to be used in the production of a target substance. The method for manufacturing a raw seed for germination induction has a pre-treatment step of holding a plant seed in atmospheric conditions of a carbon dioxide concentration of at least 400 ppm and/or an oxygen concentration of at most 19 volume% continuously for at least 5 hours. Alternatively, the method for manufacturing a raw seed for germination induction has a pre-treatment step for treating a plant seed such that the phytochemical mass in the plant seed after the pre-treatment step is at least twice the phytochemical mass in the plant seed before the pre-treatment step.
