When an information terminal or the like, such as a mobile telephone or a smartphone, incorporating a camera and having a communication function is used to transmit an image file consisting of image data and additional information thereof, it is necessary to protect private information in the additional information. On the other hand, some pieces of additional information may be preferably used in accordance with a transmission destination or a use purpose and hence it is desirable to switch scopes of additional information to be on public view. For this, it is arranged that: a plurality of public view levels, at which among a plurality of items of additional information, items to be deleted and items to be transmitted can be set, be prepared; one of a plurality of level icons indicating the respective ones of the plurality of public view levels be selected when an image file is transmitted; an image icon indicating the image file be passed to the selected level icon, thereby deleting, according to the setting information of the public view level corresponding to the selected level icon, the to-be-deleted setting items of the additional information added to the image file corresponding to the image icon; and the additional information in accordance with the setting information of the public view level be then transmitted. |
