The invention relates to a single-piece or multi-piece corner element (1) for a frame structure comprising at least one hollow section (2, 3). According to the invention, the corner element (1) is made of a metal material and has two legs (4, 5) extending at a right angle from one another for connecting one hollow section (2, 3) each; the legs (4, 5) each have at least four side walls which extend in the longitudinal direction and enclose a cavity (6, 7).
