PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical element capable of securing adhesive strength even when the optical element is reduced in size and thickness.SOLUTION: An optical element 100 converting an angle of light emitted from a luminous element comprises: a lens portion 11 having an optical function; and a flange portion 12 extending circumferentially about the lens portion 11. An outer shape of the flange portion 12 is a square shape. The following conditional expressions (1) through (3) are satisfied: f≤0.7(mm) (1); 0.6≤d/f≤1.65 (2); A≥0.35(mm) (3).
