PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnetizing device for a magnetic encoder that can properly switch positions of a pair of magnetizing heads while using an integrated magnetizing yoke and can efficiently magnetize double row magnetic encoder tracks of an annular magnetic body.SOLUTION: A magnetizing device 1 comprises: a chuck 5 which holds an annular magnetic body 10 and rotates around a rotary shaft L; a magnetizing yoke 2; an exciting coil 3; and switching means 6 which switches magnetic encoder tracks 12 and 13 to be magnetized by sliding the magnetizing yoke 2 in an arraying direction of a pair of magnetizing heads 2a and 2b. Respective tip surfaces of the pair of magnetizing heads 2a and 2b are directed each other in the same direction. The tip surface of one magnetizing head 2a opposes to the magnetic encoder tracks 12 and 13, and the tip surface of the other magnetizing head 2b opposes to a magnet path made of a magnetic material provided in the chuck 5.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
