PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lens holding mechanism which is capable of preventing deterioration in image quality caused when the whole end (tip on the object side along an optical axis) of a lens holder crosses diagonal light ray, and in which the whole end is less likely to be damaged.SOLUTION: A lens holding mechanism includes a lens body including at least one lens, and a lens holder for housing the lens body. The lens body includes a side surface, a front surface part provided on the object side along an optical axis, and a bottom surface part provided on the imaging surface side along the optical axis. The front surface part includes a partial region of the side surface on the object side along the optical axis, and a front surface provided on the object side along the optical axis. The bottom surface part includes a partial region of the side surface on the imaging side along the optical axis, and a bottom surface provided on the imaging side along the optical axis.
