A method of forming a coating solution for forming a light-absorbing layer of a solar cell, the method comprising: dissolving a chalcogen and at least one metal or metal compound selected from the group consisting of Cu, Zn, Sn, In, Ga, Sb, a Cu compound, a Zn compound, a Sn compound, an In compound, a Ga compound and a Sb compound in dimethylsulfoxide and/or water in the presence of hydrazine to obtain a homogeneous hydrazine-coordinated metal chalcogenide complex solution; and adding 0.1 to 50 volume%, based on homogeneous hydrazine-coordinated metal chalcogenide complex solution, of at least one alcohol having 1 to 5 carbon atoms selected from the group consisting of methanol, ethanol, isopropanol, n-butyl alcohol, sec-butyl alcohol, isobutyl alcohol, tert-butyl alcohol, 1-pentanol, 2-pentanol, 3-pentanol, 2-methyl-1-butanol, 3-methyl-1-butanol, 2-methyl-2-butanol, 3-methyl-2-butanol, 2,2-dimethyl-1-propanol, ethylene glycol and glycerin to the homogeneous hydrazine-coordinated metal chalcogenide complex solution.
