PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To restrain increase in cost involved in the update of hardware of a communication control device by locally stopping the update of hardware of the communication control device.SOLUTION: A communication control device has a first function among functions executable for sound data, the first function converting sound data transmitted by a first terminal in a first network into sound data with a data format transferable to a second terminal in a second network different from the first network, and transferring the resultant data to the second terminal. The communication control device receives first information to give an instruction to perform a second function other than the first function from the first terminal, and if its processing unit does not have the second function which the received first information gives the instruction to perform, it transmits second information to give an instruction to perform the second function to a first external apparatus. If the communication device receives third information to indicate the second function can be performed from the first external apparatus, it uses a path used for transferring sound data to the second terminal as a path to transfer sound data to the second terminal via the first external apparatus.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2 |
