PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vehicle and a method for controlling the vehicle that can accurately and promptly restrict vehicle speed to preset target limit vehicle speed, can suppress discharge of NOx and ammonia to the atmosphere by accurately and promptly restricting engine output and can inform a driver that an urea water injection system has an abnormality to prompt the driver to eliminate the abnormality of the urea water injection system when the state of the urea water injection system becomes an abnormal state corresponding to a preset condition, and that can maintain the vehicle speed at a level near the target limit vehicle speed to prevent deterioration of driving feeling.SOLUTION: Whether or not the state of an urea water injection system 1 is an abnormal state corresponding to a preset condition is determined, and when a determination that the state of the urea water injection system 1 is the abnormal state is made, injection of fuel injected into a cylinder is controlled through feedback control of PI control, so that vehicle speed V of a vehicle reaches a preset target limit vehicle speed Vc or lower.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2 |
