PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a photoacoustic apparatus capable of suppressing the effect of an intravascular blood volume on the accuracy of acquired subject information.SOLUTION: The photoacoustic apparatus according to the present invention comprises: an electric stimulation unit for applying a voltage to a subject while the subject is irradiated with light a plurality of times; and a processing unit which acquires subject information by using, among a plurality of signals, at least part of signals corresponding to photoacoustic waves which are generated during a period from an irradiation start timing determined based on a voltage application start timing until first time between the voltage application start timing and the voltage application end timing elapses and not using signals corresponding to photoacoustic waves which are generated during the time other than the period from the start timing until the first time elapses.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
