PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging device that allows an optimal operation to be performed in accordance with an operation situation.SOLUTION: An imaging device comprises: a pixel array unit 40 that has a focus detection pixel 311 having a pair of photo diodes 13 and 14 plurally arrayed in a two-dimensional way; a first horizontal output circuit 49 that sums a light reception output of the pair of photo diodes 13 and 14, and outputs the light reception output as an image signal; a second horizontal output circuit 45 that outputs the light reception output of the pair of photo diodes 13 and 14 as a focus detection signal; an image data generation unit that generates image data on the basis of the image signal output by the first horizontal output circuit; a focus detection unit that detects a focus adjustment state of an imaging optical system on the basis of the focus detection signal output by the second horizontal output circuit; and a halt control unit that causes the output of the image signal by the first horizontal output circuit or the output of the focus detection signal by the second horizontal output circuit to be halted in response to a prescribed operation state.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 9 |
