The present invention addresses the problem of providing a rubber composition for tire bead insulation with which various properties demanded of tire bead insulation are improved while effectively utilizing recycled rubber. This problem is solved by a rubber composition for tire bead insulation containing 80 parts by mass or more of carbon black and 40 parts by mass or more of inorganic filler per 100 parts by mass of a diene rubber that contains 60 parts by mass or more of natural rubber, the total of the carbon black and inorganic filler being 120-180 parts by mass, and 4-50 mass% of 60-160 mesh recycled rubber being compounded with respect to the inorganic filler.
