The present invention provides a catalyst composition for preparing a synthetic gas by a carbon dioxide reforming reaction of methane, the composition containing a mixture of a solid acid and iron, and also provides a method for preparing a synthetic gas by carbon dioxide reforming reaction of methane, the method comprising the steps of: (a) injecting the catalyst composition into a reactor; and (b) producing a synthetic gas by injecting carbon dioxide and methane into the reactor such that the catalyst composition decomposes the carbon dioxide and the methane.
