A processing apparatus 3 according to the present invention is provided with: a moving-image processing unit 35a for generating moving-image data that can be played back from moving-image data to be played back; a display control unit 32 for causing a display apparatus 5 to play back the moving-image data that can be played back generated by the moving-image processing unit 35a; a release-instruction input unit 36a for receiving an input of a release signal during playback while the playback moving-image data is being played back on the display apparatus 5; a still-image generating unit 35c for generating, from the moving-image data, release-image data corresponding to the playback image being played back on the display apparatus 5 when the release signal is input during playback; and a recording control unit 33a for associating the release-image data generated by the still-image generating unit 35c with the moving-image data and causing a recording apparatus 6 to record the release-image data.
