The present invention relates to the technical field of communications. Provided are a message processing method and apparatus. The method comprises: receiving a first message sent by a first device to a second device; determining whether the first message is a private message; generating a second message according to the first message if the first message is a private message, the second message carrying a first privacy tag; and sending the second message to the second device, so that the second device displays a notification of the second message on a notification interface according to the first privacy tag after receiving the second message. After the second device receives the second message, the second message is displayed according to whether the second message carries the first privacy tag, so that the purpose of displaying message contents of different granularities by the second device is achieved, a user can acquire important notification messages in time, and user privacy leakage is avoided. |
