PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a control device of a vehicle drive unit which can suppress that a driver senses a difference between gear change feelings of a change of a gear change ratio by a stepped transmission, and a change of a gear change ratio by a differential gear device which can change the gear change ratio steplessly even if both the changes are mixedly performed.SOLUTION: A control device of a vehicle drive unit controls the output torque of at least a first rotating electric machine MG1 and a second rotating electric machine MG2 so that a change which is close to a change of a control-objective parameter in the execution of the gear change control of a transmission is generated at a control objective parameter being at least either of a rotational speed of an internal combustion engine EN, and gear change output torque which is transmitted to an output member from the transmission in the execution of the differential gear change control.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 10
