Provided is an ignition device for an internal combustion engine such that two ignition coils are easily connected to a single spark plug. A case (11) has: coil housing parts (21, 22) for respectively housing ignition coils (31, 32); high-voltage output parts (45, 46) for respectively supplying high voltages generated in secondary coils (42, 44) of the ignition coils (31, 32) to a spark plug (13); and a connection part (11a) which protrudes from the bottom end of the case (11) and connects to the top end of a protector (12). The protector (12) has a high-voltage connection part (51) which connects to the ends of high-voltage output part (45) and high-voltage output part (46) disposed in the connection part (11a) when the protector is connected to the connection part (11a) and electrically connects to the spark plug (13) which is connected to the bottom end. The high voltages respectively output from the ignition coils (31, 32) are combined at the high-voltage connection part (51) and supplied to the spark plug (13). |
