Apparatus has at least one processor and at least one memory having computer-readable code stored thereon which when executed controls the at least one processor to perform a method comprising:
whilst providing two-way communication in a voice call, detecting whether a speaker component of a voice communications device is in a state of being moved away from a user's ear;in response to detecting that the speaker component of the voice communications device is in a state of being moved away from a user's ear, entering a line activity mode;in the line activity mode, determining whether voice activity is present on the inbound channel of the voice call; andin response to determining the presence of voice activity on the inbound channel of the call when in the line activity mode, causing announcement of the detection of voice activity.
