Disclosed are a link bundling method and system. The method comprises: allocating at least two convergence devices for an access device; the access device and the convergence devices establishing a link bundling group; and the convergence devices interacting with link bundling group information, and determining a main link bundling group and standby link bundling groups according to the link bundling group information. By means of the implementation of the present invention, a plurality of convergence devices and link bundling groups are allocated for the same access device, such that the access device can be connected to a network server via the plurality of link bundling groups/convergence devices, and the main and standby link bundling groups are determined according to the link bundling group information; under normal conditions, the access device completes data forwarding via the main link bundling group; and when the main link bundling group or the connected convergence device is faulty, the link bundling groups can be switched by a main/standby switch, such that the access device can maintain normal running of a service, and the problem in the prior art that the service is interrupted when the link bundling groups/convergence devices are faulty is solved. |
