[Class 131] In a dry shaver of the type in which a bladed cutter is rotated, on an axis parallel to the surface to be shaved, within a guard which may be wholly or in part cylindrical and is formed with a slot parallel to the axis of rotation of the cutter and having its edges formed as a comb and a cutting edge respectivelyl means are provided to vary the inner periphera, dimension of the guard to alter the width of the slot. As shown the slot b in the guard a has one toothed edge d and a cutting edge c and has its ends widened and tapered at e to engage wedges/which are grooved at g to engage with convergent rails mounted on a container. By sliding the wedges along the rails the shaver may be set at a preselected degree of cut. In modifications the adjustment is made by screwing wedges axially into the guard, by rotation of eccentric cams or by moving tongues projecting from the guard at the side remote from the slot towards and away from each other. |
