PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical assembly that can be miniaturized and an optical module having the same.SOLUTION: A TOSA (Transmitter Optical Sub Assembly) 4 includes a light source unit 50 that emits signal light, a converging lens 81 that collects the signal light L-Lemitted by the light source unit 50, and a prism 82 having first and second reflective surfaces 822 and 823 and configured to convert a light path L of the signal light L-Lthrough reflection on plural reflective surfaces 822 and 823.
