The present invention provides an electrode assembly and a secondary battery which are capable of preventing active material from being separated and preventing a short circuit and damage attributable to a tab attached to a current collector. According to one aspect of the present invention, provided is an electrode assembly, comprising a separator disposed between a cathode and an anode, wherein a cathode coating portion in which a cathode active material layer is formed and a cathode uncoated portion in which a cathode active material layer is not formed are formed on the cathode, a cathode tab is attached to the cathode uncoated portion, first cathode protective tape is attached to the cathode uncoated portion, and the first cathode protective tape includes a first cover portion covering a side end of the cathode coating portion and a second cover portion extending from the first cover portion and covering both the cathode tab and the cathode uncoated portion. |
