Abstract An electronic device and a method performed by the electronic device are disclosed. The method starts by activating or deactivating a secondary component carrier corresponding to a secondary cell which provides transmission resource for carrier aggregation based on an activation/deactivation command from a base station. The method then continues by monitoring a physical downlink control channel of the secondary cell based on a discontinuous reception operation if the secondary component carrier is activated and not monitoring the physical downlink control channel of the secondary cell if the secondary component carrier is deactivated. The method further comprises receiving a MAC signaling as the activation/deactivation command and controlling activating or deactivating the secondary component carrier based on the MAC signaling. |
