PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a zoom lens that offers compactness, a high magnification, and superior optical performance, and to provide an image capturing device having the same.SOLUTION: A zoom lens comprises, in order from the object side to the image side, a first lens group having positive refractive power, a second lens group having negative refractive power, a third lens group having positive refractive power, and a fourth lens group having positive refractive power. When zooming from the wide-angle end to the telephoto end, the first lens group is stationary while at least the second lens group and fourth lens group move, changing distance between each pair of adjacent lens groups thereby. A lens configuration of the first lens group, a lens configuration of the second lens group, a focal length of each lens group, a focal length fw of the entire system at the wide-angle end, and a lateral magnification β2t of the second lens group when focused on an object at infinity at the telephoto end are each set appropriately.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
