The actuating member of a centrifugally engaged disc clutch comprises relatively axially slidable cups 4, 5 carried by an input flywheel 1, and forming a chamber containing balls 11, which, acting centrifugally on inwardly converging outer walls of the cups, force the latter axially apart against springs 7 to clamp an output friction disc 2 against the input flywheel 1 through 'a presser plate 8. Uniform circumferential distribution of the balls 11 is assured by a loose ring 9 having radial vanes 10 forming sectoral pockets. |
