PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an acoustic probe which can reconstitute a high resolution image and the like without scanning a hemispherical polyhedron, and a subject information acquisition device such as a photoacoustic diagnostic device.SOLUTION: In an acoustic wave probe 180, a plurality of chips 200 including a plurality of ultrasonic transducers 210 in respective polygonal substrates are arranged so as to constitute a semispherical polyhedron. A subject information acquisition device comprises the acoustic wave probe 180 and a signal processing unit 160 for converting a signal detected by the acoustic wave probe into a signal expressing information on the subject.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
