PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image display device that can efficiently cool an optical element including a light valve and suppress adhesion of dust to the optical element.SOLUTION: An image display device has a light source, a light valve, and at least one light guiding optical system of a first light guiding optical system and a second light guide optical system. The image display device further includes a pump and a radiator, and has the light source, light valve, first cooling means for cooling at least one of the first light guiding optical system and second light guide optical system, and intake port. The image display device further includes an air-blowing fan, and has the light source, light valve, second cooling means for cooling at least one of the first light guiding optical system and second light guiding optical system, and a filter.
