The purpose of the present invention is to provide an inexpensive air-conditioning machine with which it is possible to perform mild heating suitable for climates in which heating is needed for only brief periods. In this air-conditioning machine (1), when the outside air temperature (To) is below a prescribed outside air temperature (Tos), a control unit (50) does not initiate a heating operation, because frost would quickly form in the outdoor heat exchanger (17). Once a heating operation has been initiated with the outside air temperature (To) at or above the prescribed outside air temperature (Tos), the control unit (50) performs droop control of a compressor (13) when the evaporation temperature (Te) falls below a threshold value (Ts1), and minimizes frost formation on the outdoor heat exchanger (17). Further, during the droop control, when the evaporation temperature (Te) falls below a threshold value (Ts2) or the outside air temperature (To) falls below the prescribed outside air temperature (Tos), the control unit (50) halts the compressor (13) and prevents frost formation on the outdoor heat exchanger (17). |
