A rigid, high bulk laminated board comprising a five layer laminate having a composite ply (10) consisting of a first and a second embossed ply (21, 22) and between them an un-embossed centre ply, each embossed ply (21, 22) having first embossed projections extending from their first side and having embossed projections from their second side, the first embossed projections are adhesively bonded to the un-embossed centre ply to form a composite ply (10), the laminate further having first and second flat outer plies (15, 16) adhesively bonded to both sides of the composite ply (10). Each embossed ply has alternating raised and lowered projections (23, 24) in the form of an identical cup-and-ball pattern. A method for the production of such a rigid laminated board is also described. |
