摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a start control device for a compression self-ignition type engine, which can increase opportunities for a rapid engine restart brought about by one-compression start.SOLUTION: A start control device for a compression self-ignition type engine includes an ECU which performs control for making opening of an intake throttle valve during a period from 2TDC (ii) [top dead center one time before final TDC] to final TDC (i) [last top dead center right before engine stop] larger than the opening of the intake throttle valve during a period from 3TDC (iii) [top dead center two times before final TDC] to 2TDC (ii) so that an inflow air amount during an suction stroke of a stop-time compression stroke cylinder 2C can become larger than an inflow air amount during a suction stroke of a stop-time expansion stroke cylinder 2A, in a process for automatically stopping the engine, and which controls an alternator so that an engine speed C during passage through final TDC (i) can be a predetermined reference rotation speed γ or below.
