[Class 142(iv)] A drum 1 having inclines 12 for producing conical warp sections is carried by a shaft 2 in the end of which is fixed a nut 8, so that as the drum rotates it traverses along a stationery screw 9; the drum is returned to its original position, in readiness for winding the next section, by turning the screw 9 through a worm drive 11, 10. The inclines 12 are constituted by bellcrank levers engaging nuts 15 on screws 16 which can be turned simultaneously by a hand wheel 20 and chain 19 to adjust the angle of the inclines.
