The display has a casing housing the refrigeration circuit and a raised display surface (4) supporting the food to be displayed. The display surface can be lowered to fit flush with the top surface of the refrigeration casing. The display surface has heat insulation material for maintaining the cooled surface at the refrigerated temp. The movement of the display surface is guided via vertical side guides (3), with a sliding cover (9) pref. moved across the display surface in its fully lowered position.
