Window (1) includes a top sash (2) and a bottom sash (3) in a main window frame (10) having a bottom sill (11), wherein top sash (2) is an outwardly opening top hung sash and bottom sash (3) is an inwardly opening side hung sash, and wherein, when closed, the window (1) has the appearance of a vertically sliding sash window. The top sash (2) and the bottom sash (3) are each of substantially the same dimensions, i.e. the top half of the window is an outwardly opening top hung sash and the bottom half an inwardly opening side hung sash. Top sash (2) is provided with and offset sash ring (4) for pulling the top sash shut and sash lock receivers (21) for receiving sash locks (7) on bottom sash (3). The bottom rail (2a) of the top sash (2) is provided with two decorative sash horns (5), one at each side of the bottom rail. |
