A laminated structure has a first solid layer 1 and a second porous or lattice structure layer 3, which may be a metal foam both layers are created using additive layer machining (ALM) / 3D printing. A second solid layer 4, which may be a ceramic material may be heat sprayed or bonded onto the porous structure. A series of cooling channels (Fig 2, 2) may be provided and may be formed using ALM. The ALM material has been designed to have minimum weight whilst still maintaining the required tensile and bonding properties in high temperature propulsion environments.
