[Class 138(i)] Also in Groups X, XXVIII and XXXII] A beading or buffer strip for carpet sweepers of natural or synthetic rubber or - other suitable resilient material has a longitudinal recess for the entry of a supporting flange 1 to which it is secured by means of a series of spaced clips adhesively secured in position within the recess. The stop may also be used as a draught excluder, or moulding &c. The strip shown in Fig. 2 includes an effective portion 2, e.g. of sponge rubber, and an attachment portion 3 which encloses the clips 4 and is either extruded from rubber or bent up from rubber strip and adhesively secured to the effective portion. The inwardly directed edges 5 of the clips engage with tangs 6 formed in the flange. The tangs may be downwardly directed to give a snap on attachment. The clips on the strip of Fig. 3 have pressed out projections 8 which engage in spaced holes or recesses 7 in the flange. In another modification the clips are-outwardly pressed at one side and engage over outwardly pressed parts of the flange. The strip shown in Fig. 5 has clips 4 each with a stud 11 which springs through a hole 12 in a tong 6 on the flange. The strip may be wholly or partly covered with ornamental fabric, patterned, or coated with flock. Specification 631,890, [Group X], is referred to.</p> |
