<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To avoid an erroneous detection of paper jam and thereby improve detection accuracy. <P>SOLUTION: A printing apparatus 11 is for printing information on paper P by reciprocating a carriage 14 having the recording head 19 mounted thereon to inject ink on the paper P in a main scanning direction. The printing apparatus includes: a first detection means for detecting the paper p based on a duty value changed by contact with the paper P; a second detection means for contactlessly detecting the paper P; and a determination means for determining whether the paper P is remained based on a result detected by the first and second detection means. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
