The invention discloses a photography apparatus and a photography method. The photography apparatus emphasizes displaying a subject to be photographed with a photography distance shorter than the shortest photography distance or the background beyond the subject to be photographed. At least one of the subject to be photographed or the background beyond the subject to be the photographed can assist a user to focus. The photography processes a photography unit for photographing the subject to be photographed, a displaying unit for displaying processed image data outputted from the photography unit, and a distance measurement unit for measuring the photography distance of the subject to be photographed. When the display unit displays the image data on a monitor screen (200), a first zone (a) in which the photography distance of the subject to be photographed is shorter than the shortest photography distance, and a second zone (b) beyond the first zone are discriminatively displayed. |
