According to one embodiment of the present invention, a catalyst for synthesizing methanol, comprising CuO, ZnO and metal oxyhydroxide particles is provided. The catalyst has, on the surface thereof, a very large surface of copper substantially participating in a reaction to convert CO_2 or CO into methanol, thereby productivity of methanol per unit weight is greatly increased. Moreover, the catalyst has a low reduction temperature, and thus methanol can be synthesized at a low temperature and the regeneration of the catalyst is facilitated. Therefore, using the catalyst according to the present invention, CO_2 can be effectively converted into methanol by a single step. |
