A brake caliper for a vehicle according to one embodiment of the present invention comprises: a disk; pad plates provided with frictional pads on front surfaces thereof, which are arranged at an inboard side and an outboard side, with the disk interposed therebetween, and which generate braking force when the frictional pads come into contact with the disk; a piston which presses the pad plate arranged at the inboard side against the disk; a caliper housing provided with a cylinder portion in which the piston is received and a finger portion which presses the pad plate arranged at the outboard side against the disk; and a cover core combined with a rear surface of the pad plate, wherein the cover core comprises a body portion which is in tight contact with the rear surface of the pad plate and a clip portion which bends from an end of the body portion to extend toward the pad plate and is combined with an end of the pad plate. The clip portion comprises a pressing portion which is in contact with the end of the pad plate and presses the end of the pad plate, and an engaging portion which bends inward from an end of the pressing portion to extend toward the body portion and is in contact with the front surface of the pad plate to support the pad plate. According to the brake caliper for a vehicle of the present invention, since the clip portion provided to the cover core is stably installed and securely combined, the cover core is not likely to be separated from the pad plate even after repetitive braking operations are performed. |
